Commission/Map/Aggregation Settings
This function allows you to change settings that control the behavior of the Commission / Map function. Not all settings are required based on the mode of operation as explained below.
Container |
This is a logical grouping number that can define such things as Pallet ID, Container ID, Serialization, document ID, Case or box number, etc. ** only used for |
Item Serial Number |
The Item Serial Number key as setup in Serial Number Maintenance, This defines the number stream. |
Tag ID Prefix |
The desired Prefix for the EPC (e.g. ABC). Note this must conform to hexadecimal encoding rules thus only values of A-F are allowed. so when using ABC as the Tag-ID prefix it would be encoded as 'ABC000000000000000002355' |
Mode |
There are (3) modes of operation as defined below: Product Commissioning and Mapping - this enables mapping tags to base Items ØItem (required) ØContainer (Optional) ØItem Serial Number (required if commissioning tags) ØTag ID Prefix (Optional if commissioning tags) ØLocation (Optional) Asset Commissioning and Mapping - this enables mapping tags to serialized Assets ØItem (not required) ØItem Serial Number (required if commissioning tags) ØTag ID Prefix (Optional only commissioning tags) ØLocation (Optional) Tag Aggregation - this enables linking 'Child' tags to 'Parent' tags and optionally mapping & extracting the Child tags at the same time. ØParent Object Type (Required) ØParent Item or Parent Category (Required) ØEvent Binding ID (Optional: extracts the parent/child relationship for external system) ØMap Unknown Tag (Optional) üAssigns a default Item number to the Child Tag (Item attribute in settings) and creates an inventory record for each Child defaulting from the current location of the parent Item üUpdates TagNet with the Tag Mapping and inventory of the aggregated child tags. (Qty = ‘1’) üThe Child Item will default its Item Number based on the SU Category so they are aligned. ØItem (Required for Child tag when mapping unknown tags = YES) ØLocation (Optional) |

Scripts |
Because the process of mapping and commissioning tags can be done in a repetitive process involving matching tag sets, a simple script language is available to prompt a relatively inexperienced user through the process. There are two key directives as listed:
MESSAGE TEXT (your message) – this will display a message to the user instructing them what to do when they take the menu option, and for every subsequent step afterwards PROMPT ITEM(12345678) – this will override the default Item number to be mapped to the given tag. In the scenario below a customer is mapping a matching set of tote card and tote. The user is being prompted to place the card in front of the antenna first, commission/map it, then it changes the item to the tote and prompts the user to remove the card and put the tote in front of the antenna, then commission/map that tag. |
